Commissions

How Fuul calculates what an affiliate earns on a sale.

A commission is what one sale pays one affiliate. Fuul calculates it when it processes the sale, rounds it to the cent and keeps it.

How the amount is set

  1. The rate. The rate of the affiliate's highest-ranked group with a rate in your reward, or the default rate.
  2. The amount. The sale's total multiplied by the rate, or the reward's fixed amount.

Each commission keeps the rate and group it used, so later edits never change it.

The sale is judged when it's processed

The affiliate's status, their groups and your reward at that moment decide what the sale earns. Fuul doesn't look at their state when the sale occurred.

Once Fuul has processed a sale, it never processes it again.

When a sale earns nothing

Each sale records its result. If it earns nothing, the reason is the first of these that applies:

ReasonWhat happened
No rewardYour program has no sale reward
Not a participantThe affiliate isn't in the groups your program is closed to
Removed or bannedThe affiliate was removed or banned. Their customers stay bound to them
Duration endedThe sale is outside the reward's duration
Not the first saleA first-sale-only reward already paid for this customer
Commission of $0A 0% rate, or an amount that rounds to nothing

A sale from a customer who isn't bound to anyone has no affiliate, so it earns no commission.

Paused affiliates

A paused affiliate's commission is calculated but suspended. It counts in no total, and resuming the affiliate doesn't release it. The sale still counts in the affiliate's revenue and conversions.

Commission statuses

StatusMeaning
PendingEarned and not paid yet
SuspendedEarned while the affiliate was paused. Never paid

Seeing a commission

Open an affiliate and go to the Payouts tab. Each row is one commission. Open it to see the sale, the rate applied and how the commission was reached.

Refunds

Fuul doesn't reverse commissions for now. A refunded sale's commission stays pending and counts in Pending payout. Check for refunds before you pay your affiliates.
